- 1/2 cup [125 mL] chopped celery
- 1/2 cup [125 mL] chopped mushrooms
- 1/2 cup [125 mL] chopped onion
- 1/2 sweet green pepper, membranes removed and seeded, chopped
- A little butter
- 6 large wieners
- 6 hot dog buns
- Grated Mozzarella or Cheddar cheese, to sprinkle hot dogs

- Brown together chopped celery, mushrooms, onion and sweet green pepper into hot melted butter; reserve.
- Brown wieners over hot barbecue rack broiler or under preheated to 375°F [190°C] oven.
- Arrange wieners into hot dog buns; evenly garnish each hot dog with browned mixed vegetables and then sprinkle each to taste with grated Mozzarella or Cheddar cheese.
- Individually wrap hot dogs into al foil.
- Transfer wrapped hot dogs onto middle rack of hot barbecue, to melt the cheese, or into preheated oven.
