Hot Dogs my Way [or broiler]

Comments: These easy to prepare hot dogs simply are delicious.
Servings: 6 hot-dogs
IngredientsPreparation
  • 1/2 cup [125 mL] chopped celery
  • 1/2 cup [125 mL] chopped mushrooms
  • 1/2 cup [125 mL] chopped onion
  • 1/2 sweet green pepper, membranes removed and seeded, chopped
  • A little butter
  • 6 large wieners
  • 6 hot dog buns
  • Grated Mozzarella or Cheddar cheese, to sprinkle hot dogs
  • Brown together chopped celery, mushrooms, onion and sweet green pepper into hot melted butter; reserve.
  • Brown wieners over hot barbecue rack broiler or under preheated to 375°F [190°C] oven.
  • Arrange wieners into hot dog buns; evenly garnish each hot dog with browned mixed vegetables and then sprinkle each to taste with grated Mozzarella or Cheddar cheese.
  • Individually wrap hot dogs into al foil.
  • Transfer wrapped hot dogs onto middle rack of hot barbecue, to melt the cheese, or into preheated oven.
