Real American-Style Spareribs [barbecue]
Comments: If you do not have a favorite homemade barbecue sauce, season any store-bought barbecue sauce with tasty ingredients such as chili powder, orange marmalade, freshly grated ginder, or hot mustard.
Serve these spareribs along with barbecue corn-on-the-cob and a well-peppered salad potato; follow this meal wth a frozen yogurt caramel pie served along with golden barbeacued peach halves.
Servings: 4
  • 4 pounds [1.8 kg] pork spareribs, into 1 or 2 pieces
  • Any desired barbecue sauce, to brush and serve
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • Preheat barbecue until medium-hot.
  • Salt and pepper spareribs.
  • Arrange over indirect flame onto medium-hot barbecue rack.
  • Close barbecue lid and grill spareribs until tender, for approximately 1 1/2 to 2 hours, add charcoals whenever needed to keep needed temperature, approximately 325°F to 350°F [160°C yo 180°C] at all times.
  • Turn and coat spareribs with barbecue sauce a few times during the last 15 minutes of grilling time.
  • Serve the spareribs directly from the barbecue or, for enven more tender spareribs, wrap the spareribs into thick al foil.
  • Transfer wrappings into brown bags, close the brown bags and leave the spareribs to rest for 1 hour.
  • Unwrap, cut spareribs into 4 equal servings and serve, along with more barbecue sauce into a small bowl
