- 1 [1-pound / 454-g] 3/4-inch [2-cm] thick shoulder pork steak
- 1/2 teaspoon [2.5 mL] any mixed meat, vegetable... or popcorn enhancing spices
- 1 cup [250 mL] mild smoked barbecue sauce
- 1/2 cup [125 mL] applesauce

- Season pork steak with spices.
- Arrange steak side-by-side into a shallow glass dish and cover steak with mild smoked barbecue sauce.
- Couver dish and refrigerate pork steak overnight.
- When ready, preheat barbecue to medium-low intensity.
- Grill pork steak onto warm barbecue rack directly over hot embers for 8 minutes.
- Turn then coat steak all over with applesauce.
- Cook for approximately 6 to 8 minutes more, until well-done, until a meat thermometer indicates 160°F [71°C].
- Cut steak in half, and serve.
