- 1 1/2 pounds [680 g] beef inside round or fillet
- 1/4 cup [60 mL] creamy peanut butter, for the sauce
Marinade
- 1 green onion, chopped
- 1/3 cup [80 mL] ketchup
- 1/4 cup [60 mL] light soy sauce
- 3 tablespoons [45 mL] dark brown sugar
- 1 tablespoon [15 mL] peanut oil
- 1 teaspoon [5 mL] freshly grated ginger
- 1 teaspoon [5 mL] minced garlic
- 1/4 teaspoon [1 mL] crushed chile flakes
- 1/4 cup [60 mL] water

- Into a bowl, whip together chopped green onion, ketchup, soy sauce, brown sugar, peanut oil, freshly grated ginger, minced garlic and crushed chile flakes of marinade mixing in water.
- Cut meat into 3/4-inch [2-cm] each cubes.
- Transfer beef cubes into a plastic bag with a zipper; pour in marinade.
- Remove air from bag; tightly seal bag.
- Leave to marinate, refrigerated, for 1 to 2 hours.
- Remove beef cubes from bag reserving marinade.
- Thread beef cubes onto skewers leaving a little space between each cube.
- Leave to rest at room temperature for 20 to 30 minutes.
- Preheat barbecue until really hot.
- Grill skewers over direct heat onto preheated barbecue rack for 3 to 5 minutes, until done to taste, turning once.
- Meanwhile, into a small casserole, bring marinade to a boil.
- Leave marinade to boil for 1 minute, the mix in cramy peanut butter; bring back to a boil, whipping until thickened.
- Serve skewers, along with hot peanut butter sauce.
