- 3 cups [750 mL] vinegar
- 1 cup [250 mL] Worcestershire sauce
- 1/4 cup [60 mL] dry mustard
- 1/4 cup [60 mL] ketchup
- 1/4 cup [60 g] butter or margarine
- 1 medium-size onion, quartered
- 1 lemon, quartered
- 16 cloves
- 10 bay leaves
- 5 garlic cloves
- 1 tablespon [15 mL] salt
- 1 teaspoon [5 mL] oregano
- 1 teaspoon [5 mL] rosemary
- 1/2 teaspoon [2.5 mL] pepper
- 1/4 teaspoon [1 mL] Cayenne pepper
- 1/4 teaspoon [1 mL] Tabasco sauce

- Bring together all ingredients to a boil.
- Lower heat and simmer, uncovered, for 15 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- Strain sauce.
