Bacon Cheese Rounds

  • 1/2 pound [227 g] Old Cheddar cheese
  • l small onion, thinly sliced or diced
  • 8 to 10 slices cooked bacon
  • 4 ounces [113 g] slivered almonds, browned in butter until golden
  • 1 cup [250 mL] mayonnaise
  • 2 teaspoons [10 mL] Worcestershire sauce
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 3 mini fresh bread sticks, sliced
  • Mix together cheese, onion, bacon, almonds, mayonnaise, Worcestershire sauce, salt and pepper; spread slices of bread with mixture.
  • Freeze, individually if possible.
  • When ready to serve, bake slices in a preheated 350°F [180°C] oven, for approximately 15 minutes.
