Crabmeat or Shrimp Bites with Onion

  • 1 tablespoon [15 g] butter
  • 2/3 cup [160 mL] cheese spread
  • 1/2 teaspoon [2.5 mL] garlic salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon [1 mL] fine salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon [1 mL] pepper
  • 1 tablespoon [15 mL] finely chopped onion
  • 5 ounces [142 g] crabmeat, crab-flavored pollock or shrimps
  • 6 wheat English muffins
  • Paprika
  • Thoroughly mix together butter, cheese spread, garlic salt, fine salt, pepper and chopped onion; delicately mix in crabmeat, crab flavored pollock or shrimps.
  • Half English muffins.
  • Spread mixture over muffin halves.
  • Sprinkle with paprika.
  • Cut each muffin half into 4 wedges; transfer onto a cookie sheet.
  • Preheat oven to 400°F [200°C]; bake muffin wedges onto higher rack for 8 to 10 minutes.
  • Turn on oven broiler; broil until golden brown.
