- 2 cups [280 g] flour
- 2 cups [450 g] shredded Old Cheddar cheese
- 4 teaspoons [20 mL] baking powder
- 1 tablespoon [15 g] sugar
- 3/4 teaspoon [3.75 mL] oregano
- 3/4 teaspoon [3.75 mL] dry mustard
- 1/2 teaspoon [2.5 mL] salt
- 1 beaten egg
- 1 cup [250 mL] milk
- 1 tablespoon [15 g] melted butter
- 6 green onions, finely chopped

- Into a bowl, mix together flour, shredded Old Cheddar cheese, baking powder, sugar, oregano, dry mustard and salt.
- Into a clean bowl, mix together beaten egg, milk and melted butter.
- Pour egg mixture over dry ingredients; add chopped green onions.
- Mix until smooth.
- Pour dough into a 9 x 5-inch [23 x 13-cm] greased and floured bread loaf pan.
- Bake bread into a preheated 350°F [180°C] oven for 40 to 45 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean from its center.
- Cool onto a wire rack for 10 minutes, before unmolding.
- Serve warm.
