- 1/2 cup + 1 tablespoon - 2 teaspoons [150 g] butter
- 1/2 cup + 1 teaspoon [130 mL] dark brown sugar
- 2 tablespoons [30 mL] water
- 1/2 teaspoon [2.5 mL] cinnamon
- 1 cup - 10 teapoons [131.5 g] flour
- 1/2 teaspoon [2.5 mL] baking powder
- 1 egg yolk

- Cream butter with a fork.
- Add dark brown sugar, water and cinnamon; thoroughly mix.
- Add flour and baking powder; knead by hand.
- Leave to rest overnight into a cool environment.
- Knead again.
- Transfer dough onto a floured surface [wooden board if possible]; flatten with a knife.
- Cut dough into shapes; transfer onto a greased baking sheet.
- Bake for approximately 25 minutes, into a preheated 350°F [180°C] oven.
