Garlic Baking Powder Biscuits

  • 2 cups [500 mL] biscuit baking mix
  • 2/3 cup [180 mL] milk
  • 1/2 cup [115 g] shredded Cheddar cheese
  • 1/4 cup [60 g] butter or margarine, melted
  • 1/4 teaspoon [1 mL] garlic powder
  • Preheat oven to 450°F [230°C].
  • Mix together baking mix, milk and shredded Cheddar cheese into a soft dough.
  • Beat vigorously for 30 seconds.
  • Drop dough by spoonfuls onto an ungreased cookie sheet.
  • Bake into preheated oven for approximately 8 to 10 minutes, until golden brown.
  • Mix together melted butter or margarine and garlic powder.
  • Brush seasoned melted butter over warm biscuits before removing from cookie sheet.
  • Serve warm.
