Beer Bread

Beer bread, lumberjack's favorite bread.
As the beer used will change the taste of the bread, you better use your favorite beer.
Sifting flour for bread recipes is a must; most people just scoop the measure in the flour canister and level it off but that compacts the flour.
It is possible to use self-rising flour but omit baking powder and salt.

| Ingredients | Preparation |
- 3 cups [420 g] sifted all-purpose flour [important]
- 1 tablespoon [15 mL] baking powder
- 5 mL [1 teaspoon] salt
- 1/4 cup [60 g] sugar
- 12 ounces [375 mL] beer
- 1/4 to 1/2 cup [60 to 100 g] butter, melted

- Preheat oven to 375°F [190°C].
- Mix together all dry ingredients.
- Pour in beer all at once, mixing as little as possible [batter should be lumpy].
- Pour into an already greased 9 x 5 x 3-inch [23 x 13 x 7,6-cm] loaf pan.
- Pour melted butter all over dough.
- Bake into preheated oven for 1 hour.
- Remove from pan and leave cool for at least 15 minutes.
