Broiled Tofu

  • 1 [1-pound / 454-g] brick bean curd, grated
  • 1 tablespoon [15 mL] oil
  • 1 tablespoon [7 g] active dry yeast
  • 1 tablespoon [15 mL] tamari or soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon [15 mL] sesame seeds
  • Minced basil, to taste
  • Finely chopped parsley, to taste
  • Salt, to taste
  • 1 onion, minced
  • Fine mushroom dices, to taste
  • 1 celery stalk, chopped
  • Mix together grated bean curd, oil, active dry yeast, tamari or soy sauce, sesame seeds, minced basil, chopped parsley, salt, minced onion, mushroom dices and chopped celery.
  • Thinly spread over a cookie sheet.
  • Broil under preheated oven broiler until golden brown, stirring often.
