Gingery Lemonade

Syrup
  • 2 tablespoons [30 mL] lemon, orange and lime rind pieces
  • 1-inch [2.5-cm] fresh gingerroot, finely chopped
  • 1/2 cup [100 g] sugar
  • 2 cups [500 mL] water
  • Fresly squeezed juice of 2 lemons
  • Fresly squeezed juice of 2 oranges
  • Fresly squeezed juice of 2 limes
Lemonade
  • Syrup
  • Ice cold water
Syrup
  • Into a saucepan, mix together lemon, orange and lime rind pieces, chopped gingerroot, sugar, and water.
  • Boil for 10 to 15 minutes.
  • Cool; refrigerate overnight.
  • Remove rind pieces; pour in freshly squeezed lemon, orange and lime juices.
Lemonade
  • For each serving, mix together 1/4 cup [60 mL] syrup and 3/4 cup [190 mL] ice cold water.
