Prepare and refrigerate cinnamon-flavored chocolate syrup ahead of time. You will then be able to serve this chocolate drink any time you want, as a refreshment or for dessert, into long narrow glasses.

Cinnamon-Flavored Chocolate Syrup
- 1/2 cup [125 mL] unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1 cup [200 g] sugar
- 1 cup [250 mL] water
- 1 cinnamon stick
- 1 teaspoon [5 mL] vanilla
Chocolate Drink
- 3 ice cubes
- 1/4 cup [60 mL] vanilla ice cream
- 3/4 cup [190 mL] chocolate syrup
- Milk
- 2 tablespoons [30 mL] whipped cream
- Cinnamon

Cinnamon-Flavored Chocolate Syrup
- Into a saucepan, mix together unsweetened cocoa powder and sugar.
- Slowly pour in water.
- Add cinnamon stick; bring to a boil.
- Lower heat and simmer for 5 minutes.
- Cool and then stir in vanilla.
- Pour syrup, and cinnamon stick, into a clean jar; refrigerate.
Chocolate Drink
- Arrange ice cubes, vanilla ice cream and chocolate syrup into a tall glass; fill glass with milk.
- Stir delicately.
- Garnish with whipped cream and sprinkle with a little cinnamon.
