Ice Cold Cinnamon-Flavored Chocolate Drink

Comments: Prepare and refrigerate cinnamon-flavored chocolate syrup ahead of time. You will then be able to serve this chocolate drink any time you want, as a refreshment or for dessert, into long narrow glasses.

Cinnamon-Flavored Chocolate Syrup
  • 1/2 cup [125 mL] unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 cup [200 g] sugar
  • 1 cup [250 mL] water
  • 1 cinnamon stick
  • 1 teaspoon [5 mL] vanilla
Chocolate Drink
  • 3 ice cubes
  • 1/4 cup [60 mL] vanilla ice cream
  • 3/4 cup [190 mL] chocolate syrup
  • Milk
  • 2 tablespoons [30 mL] whipped cream
  • Cinnamon
Cinnamon-Flavored Chocolate Syrup
  • Into a saucepan, mix together unsweetened cocoa powder and sugar.
  • Slowly pour in water.
  • Add cinnamon stick; bring to a boil.
  • Lower heat and simmer for 5 minutes.
  • Cool and then stir in vanilla.
  • Pour syrup, and cinnamon stick, into a clean jar; refrigerate.
Chocolate Drink
  • Arrange ice cubes, vanilla ice cream and chocolate syrup into a tall glass; fill glass with milk.
  • Stir delicately.
  • Garnish with whipped cream and sprinkle with a little cinnamon.
