Garlic Pernod Butter

IngredientsPreparation
  • 1/2 cup [115 g] softened butter
  • 1/2 cup [115 g] margarine
  • 4 tablespoons [60 mL] minced garlic
  • 2 tablespoons [30 mL] minced shallots
  • Juice of 1 lemon
  • 1 teaspoon [5 mL] salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon [1 mL] freshly ground pepper
  • 1 tablespoon [15 mL] freshly chopped parsley
  • 1 tablespoon [15 mL] Pernod liqueur
  • A little paprika, to colour [optional]
  • Thoroughly mix together butter, margarine, garlic, shallots, lemon juice, salt, freshly ground pepper, chopped parsley, Pernod and, if desired, paprika.
  • Serve cold or hot.
