Caramel Butter

Comments: If you leave this caramel for too long on the counter top, it is quite possible that you will find your children licking their fingers!

  • 1/3 cup [75 g] butter
  • 4 cups [1 L] brown sugar
  • 2 cups [500 mL] corn syrup
  • 1 [10 1/2-ounce / 300-mL] can sweetened condensed milk
  • Melt butter into a saucepan.
  • Mix in brown sugar and corn syrup.
  • Bring to a boil; boil for exactly 3 minutes, not more [really important].
  • Remove from heat and stir in sweetened condensed milk, until well combined.
