Ghee or Clarified Butter

  • 1 cup [225 g] butter
  • Heat butter into a saucepan on medium-high heat until boiling.
  • Turn down heat to medium-low and cook for several more minutes, stirring occassionally.
  • Ghee will take on a weird plastic-like appearance at the top and smell like caramel.
  • Strain ghee through cheesecloth and a fine strainer.
  • Keep ghee into an airtight container at room temperature or refrigerated, but as it does not need to be refrigerated.
