- 6 cinnamon sticks
- 16 cloves
- 1 teaspoon [5 mL] allspice
- 3 medium-size oranges
- Whole cloves
- 6 cups [1.5 L] cider
- 2 cups [500 mL] cranberry juice
- 1/4 cup [60 g] sugar
- 1 cup [250 mL] rum

- Break cinnamon sticks into pieces; secure cinnamon pieces along with cloves and allspice into cheesecloth.
- Prick oranges wih cloves.
- Into a saucepan, mix together cider, cranberry juice, sugar, secured spices and whole oranges.
- Simmer, covered, for 10 minutes.
- Pour in rum; reheat.
- Remove secured spices and whole oranges; throw away spices reserving oranges.
- Pour liquid into a punch bowl.
- Float reserved oranges on top.
- Serve hot, into cups.
