- 1/2 cup [125 mL] rolled oats
- 2 teaspoons [10 mL] liquid honey
- 1/8 to 1/4 teaspoon [0.5 to 1 mL] salt
- 3/4 cup [105 g] flour
- 1/4 teaspoon [1 mL] baking soda
- 1/4 cup [60 g] butter
- 4 tablespoons [60 mL] buttermilk

- Preheat oven to 400°F [200°C].
- Into a blender, finely grind rolled oats into a powder.
- Transfer into a large mixing bowl.
- Add honey, salt, flour and baking soda; stir to mix.
- Cut in butter.
- Pour in buttermilk and stir until a well-mixed, until mixture forms into a ball.
- Thinly roll-out dough onto a floured board.
- Cut dough using tiny animal cookie cutters; transfer apart onto a baking sheet.
- Bake cookies into preheated oven until just golden, for 10 to 12 minutes.
- Leave to harden slightly, then transfer cookies onto wire racks to cool completely.
