- 1 cup [225 g] margarine
- 1 1/2 cups [300 g] sugar
- 4 eggs
- 1 teaspoon [5 mL] vanilla
- 1 cup [140 g] flour
- 2/3 cup [160 mL] cocoa powder
- 1/2 cup [125 mL] chopped nuts

- Preheat oven to 350°F [180°C].
- Well beat together margarine, sugar, eggs and vanilla.
- Sift together flour and cocoa powder; mix in chopped nuts, then mix into creamy mixture.
- Evenly spread dough into a square [8-inch / 20-cm] cake pan.
- Bake into preheated oven, for 25 to 30 minutes.
- Leave to cool completely, before cutting into squares.
