Baked Apples with Meringue

  • 3 large apples, cored, peeled and quartered
  • 3 large egg whites
  • Pinch of salt
  • 1 cup [250 mL] sugar
  • Butter
  • Arrange apple pieces into a small buttered mold.
  • Beat together egg whites and salt, until really stiff.
  • Beat in sugar.
  • Evenly spoon mixture over apple pieces; dot with a little butter.
  • Bake into a preheated 300°F [150°C] oven, until crisp all the way through.
