- 4 baking apples
- Brown sugar
- Butter
- Water

- Preheat oven to 350°F [180°C].
- Rinse, dry then delicately core apples.
- Remove approximately 1 inch [2.5 cm] peel all around the top of the apples.
- Arrange apples into a baking dish, just large enough to hold the apples side-by-side.
- Fill apples with brown sugar.
- Top each apple with a small piece butter.
- Pour approximately 1/2 inch [1.3 cm] water into the dish.
- Bake apples into preheated oven for approximately 30 minutes, until tender, coating apples often with cooking juices.
- Serve hot, or cold.
