Ham and Egg Bundles

  • 12 bread slices, crusts removed
  • 12 round slices, of the side of muffin tins, Black Forest ham
  • 12 small eggs
  • 1/4 cup [60 mL] whipping cream [35%]
  • 1/4 cup [60 g] grated Gruyere cheese
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • Preheat oven to 350°F [180°C].
  • Flatten bread slices using a rolling pin.
  • Butter one side of each slice of bread.
  • Arrange bread slices into muffin tins.
  • Lightly press one slice of ham in the midlle of each slice of bread, over the bottom of each muffin tin.
  • Break one egg into each muffin tin.
  • Evenly pour the cream over 6 of the eggs; evenly sprinkle these eggs with grated Gruyere cheese.
  • Leave remaining 6 eggs plain.
  • Bake eggs into preheated oven for appoximately 15 to 20 minutes, until eggs are set, before serving.
