Crisp Cheesy Baked Eggs
Comments: To double the recipe, use a 9 x 13-inch [23 x 33-cm] baking pan.
Sausage, ham, broccoli ... pieces, can be added to the mixture.

  • 2 cups [500 mL] seasoned croutons
  • 4 eggs, slightly beaten
  • 2 cups [500 mL] milk
  • 1/2 teaspoon [2.5 mL] salt
  • Pepper, to taste
  • 1/4 teaspoon [1 mL] onion powder
  • 8 ounces [227 g] Cheddar cheese, shredded
  • Preheat oven to 325°F [160°C].
  • Arrange seasoned croutons over the bottom of a 10 x 6 x 2-inch [25 x 15 x 5-cm] buttered baking pan.
  • Beat together slightly beaten eggs, milk, salt, pepper and onion powder.
  • Pour mixture all over croutons.
  • Sprinkle mixture all over with shredded cheese.
  • Bake into preheated oven for 55 to 60 minutes, before serving.
