Devil's Sweet Pickle or Relish Sauce

Excellent with Chinese fondue and beef.
For those who prefer it 'hot', add more Tabasco sauce, one drop at a time!

Approximately 1 1/2 cups [375 mL]

| Ingredients | Preparation |
- 1/4 cup [60 mL] corn oil
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 onion, finely chopped
- 1 teaspoon [5 mL] cornstarch
- 1/4 cup [60 mL] minced sweet pickles or relish
- 2 tablespoons [30 mL] vinegar
- 1/2 cup [125 mL] ketchup
- 1/3 cup [80 mL] Worcestershire sauce
- 1/2 teaspoon [2.5 mL] salt
- 1 teaspoon [5 mL] dry mustard
- 1/8 teaspoon [0.5 mL] Tabasco sauce

- Heat corn oil into a saucepan; brown together minced garlic and chopped onion for approximately 3 minutes.
- Stir in cornstarch; cook for 1 minute.
- Mix in minced sweet pickles or relish, vinegar, ketchup and Worcestershire sauce.
- Bring to boil; stir in salt, dry mustard and Tabasco sauce.
- Pour into a metal fondue pot.
