Minute Chocolate Fondue

  • 2 [3 1/2-ounce / 100-g each] bars Swiss milk chocolate bars, broken-up into triangles
  • 1/4 cup [60 mL] milk or cream
  • 1 to 2 tablespoons [15 to 30 mL] any liqueur or a few drops of desired extract [optional]
  • Assorted fruits, cake and/or cookie bites for dippers
  • Into a microwave-safe bowl, microwave together chocolate pieces and milk or cream, on 'MEDIUM' for 1 minute, stirring after 30 seconds.
  • Remove from microwave oven; stir until completely melted.
  • If desired, stir in liqueur or extract.
  • Fondue can be served right away or can stand for about 1 hour without hardening.
  • If prepared ahead of time, let cool slightly, cover and refrigerate.
  • Uncover and reheat into microwave oven on 'MEDIUM', stirring every 30 seconds unil warm.
  • Transfer mixture into a heatproof serving bowl or a small chocolate fondue pot.
  • Serve, along with assorted fruit, cake and/or cookie bites, as dippers.
