- 6 medium-size onions, chopped
- 1/4 pound [113 g] butter
- 2 [10-ounce / 284-mL each] cans beef broth concentrate
- 2 [10-ounce / 284-mL each] cans water
- 2 cups [500 mL] red wine
- 1 cube onion broth concentrate
- 1 cube beef broth concentrate
- 1 cube chicken broth concentrate
- 5 garlic cloves
- 2 tablespoons [30 mL] lemon juice
- 1/4 cup [60 mL] chili sauce
- 1/4 cup [60 mL] soy sauce
- Thyme, to taste
- Chopped parsley, to taste
- Salt and pepper, to taste

- Brown chopped onions into melted butter.
- Add all remaining ingredients.
- Simmer for 2 hours.
- Strain.
