- 3 tablespoons [45 g] butter
- 2 small onions, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/4 teaspoon [1 mL] oregano
- 1/4 teaspoon [1 mL] oregan
- 1/4 teaspoon [1 mL] thyme
- 1/4 teaspoon [1 mL] celery salt
- 1/4 teaspoon [1 mL] mixed spices
- 1/4 teaspoon [1 mL] salt
- 1/4 teaspoon [1 mL] pepper
- 2 bay leaves
- 1 [10-ounce / 284-mL] can beef consomme concentrate
- 3/4 cup [190 mL] dry red wine

- Lightly brown chopped onions and minced garlic into hot melted butter.
- Mix in oregano, thyme, celery salt, mixed spices, salt, pepper, bay leaves and beff consomme concentrate.
- Boil for 30 minutes.
- Near the end, stir in dry red wine.
