Curry Sauce

Comments: If possible, use freshly squeezed lemon juice.
This sauce is delicious served along with a Chinese fondue, a Bourguignonne fondue, a chicken fondue, even a fish fondue.

  • 1/2 cup [115 g] butter
  • 3 tablespoons [26.25 g] flour
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons [7.5 mL] curry powder
  • 1 tablespoon [15 mL] lemon juice
  • 1 [10-ounce / 284-mL] can beef consomme
  • Melt butter into a saucepan.
  • Remove from heat; well stir in flour.
  • Into a bowl, well mix together curry powder and lemon juice; stir into first mixture.
  • Back over heat, slowly stir in cosomme, until smooth.
  • Heat, stirring, for 10 minutes.
