Fresh Pear Salad
  • 1/4 cup [60 mL] balsamic vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon [15 mL] water
  • 1 tablespoon [15 mL] Dijon mustard
  • 1 teaspoon [5 mL] olive oil
  • 1/4 teaspoon [1 mL] garlic powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon [1 mL] oregano
  • Green lettuce leaves
  • Red lettuce leaves
  • 2 fresh pears, cored then sliced
  • 2 tablespoons [30 mL] chopped nuts or pecans
  • Into a jar, vigourously shake together balsamic vinegar, water, Dijon mustard, olive oil, garlic powder and oregano.
  • Arrange lettuce leaves onto a serving plate.
  • Pour salad dressing over lettuce leaves.
  • Arrange pear slices nicely over lettuce leaves.
  • Serve, decorated with chopped nuts or pecans.
