- 4 eggs, well beaten
- 1/4 cup [60 mL] fine dry breadcrumbs
- 1/2 teaspoon [2.5 mL] salt
- 1/8 teaspoon [0.5 mL] pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon [2.5 mL] crushed oregano
- 3 or 4 drops Tabasco sauce
- 1/2 cup [125 mL] finely chopped onion
- 1 clove garlic, finely minced [optional]
- 2 tablespoons [30 g] butter
- 2 cups [450 g] grated Cheddar cheese
- 2 [6-ounce / 170-mL each] jars marinated artichoke hearts, drained and chopped

- Preheat oven to 350°F [180°C].
- Mix together beaten eggs, dry breadcrumbs, salt, pepper, oregano and Tabasco sauce; set aside.
- Brown chopped onion along with minced garlic if desired, into melted butter.
- Remove from heat; mix in grated Cheddar cheese and chopped drained marinated artichoke hearts.
- Add to reserved beaten eggs mixture.
- Evenly pour into a greased 11 x 7 1/2 x 1/2-inch [28 x 19 x 1.3-cm] baking dish.
- Bake into preheated oven, for 30 minutes.
- Cut mixture into 1-inch [2.5-cm] squares, and serve.
