If you use a hard cheese, let it come to room temperature to soften before using.
If any, don't forget to remove the wax coating from the cheese!
The nice thing with Edam and Gouda is that they come in various flavors, smoked or with caraway seeds to name only two, giving you more variations.
To serve, leave each guest cut its own wedge.
|
- 1 box 4-roll crescent dough
- 1 [7-ounce / 200-g] round whole Gouda, Edam, or Brie cheese
- 1 egg white [or whole egg]
|
- Preheat oven according to crescent dough recipe on box, usually 375°F [190°C].
- Half crescent dough.
- Wrap cheese with dough well sealing in cheese, as cheese may run if not fully sealed.
- Beat egg white, or you can 'cheat' and use the whole egg, to brush over the dough.
- Arrange onto a baking sheet.
- Bake into a preheated oven for 11 to 13 minutes, until golden.
- Serve.
