- 1 pound [454 g] hot sausage meat
- 1 pound [454 g] lean ground beef
- 1 pound [454 g] Velveeta cheese, into cubes
- 1 teaspoon [5 mL] oregano
- 1 tablespoon [15 mL] Worcestershire sauce
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- 3 loaves rye bread slices

- Fry together sausage meat and ground beef; drain drippings.
- Then mix in cheese cubes, oregano and Worcestershire sauce; salt and pepper.
- Stir until cheese has melted.
- Evenly spread mixture over rye bread slices.
- Freeze onto cookie sheets, covered.
- Transfer frozen slices into plastic bags and freeze to store.
- To serve, reheat frozen slices under preheated oven broiler until hot, or microwave, once slice at a time, for 2 to 3 minutes.
