- Approximately 2 pounds [1 kg] spareribs
Sauce
- 1 cup [250 mL] ketchup
- 1/4 cup [60 mL] molasses
- 1/4 cup [60 mL] vinegar
- 1/2 teaspoon [2.5 mL] salt
- 1/8 teaspoon [0.5 mL] pepper
- 1/8 teaspoon [0.5 mL] garlic salt or garlic powder
- 1/8 teaspoon [0.5 mL] onion salt
- 2 tablespoons [30 g] sugar
- 2 tablespoons [30 mL] onion flakes or minced chives

- Preheat oven to 325°F [160°C].
- Combine all sauce ingredients; reserve.
- Boil spareribs for 20 minutes; drain well.
- Coat spareribs with sauce or preferably, leave spareribs to marinate in sauce for 20 minutes.
- Place spareribs directly over preheated oven rack [place a pan underneath to collect drippings].
- Cook into preheated oven for 20 minutes, turning half-way through.
