Cheesy Ground Beef Pie

  • 1 pound [454 g] ground beef
  • 2/3 cup [160 mL] evaporated milk
  • 1/4 cup [60 mL] breadcrumbs
  • 1 teaspoon [5 mL] garlic salt
  • 1/3 cup [80 mL] catsup
  • 1 [3 or 4-ounce / 85 or 113-mL] can mushrooms, drained
  • 1 cup [250 mL] grated Cheddar cheese
  • 1/4 teaspoon [1 mL] oregano
  • 2 tablespoons [30 mL] grated Parmesan cheese
  • Preheat oven to 450°F [230°C].
  • Into a 9-inch [23-cm] pie plate, combine ground beef, evaporated milk, breadcrumbs and garlic salt.
  • Press mixture into pie plate.
  • Spread catsup all over mixture.
  • Evenly garnish with drained mushrooms, then sprinkle with grated Cheddar cheese.
  • Sprinkle all over with oregano, then with grated Parmesan cheese.
  • Bake into preheated oven for 20 minutes, until mixture is well done.
  • Serve, cut into wedges.
