- 2 pounds [1 kg] semi-lean ground beef
- 1 onion, finely chopped
- Italian-style breadcrumbs
- 1 egg
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- Steak spices, to taste
Sauce
- 1 cup [250 mL] chili sauce
- 1/2 cup [125 mL] water
- 1 tablespoon [15 mL] dry mustard
- 4 teaspoons [20 mL] Worcestershire sauce
- 3 heaping tablespoons [45 mL] brown sugar
- Salt and pepper, to taste

- Preheat oven to 350°F [180°C].
- Mix together all sauce ingredients; set aside.
- Mix together ground beef, chopped onion and a little Italian-style breadcrumbs.
- Add egg, season with salt and pepper, then well mix.
- Mix in enough Italian-style breadcrumbs for mixture to hold by itself.
- Shape mixture into to breads.
- Transfer shaped mixture into bread pans; evenly pour sauce over meat loaves.
- Bake into preheated oven, for 45 to 60 minutes.
