- 1 teaspoon [5 g] butter
- 2 apples, peeled and cored, grossly chopped
- 1 1/2 teaspoons [7.5 mL] cinnamon
- 6 breakfast maple syrup sausages, grossly chopped [8 1/2 ounces - 240 g]
- 4 English muffins, into 1-inch [2.5-cm] cubes
- 4 eggs
- 1 1/2 cups [375 mL] milk
- 2 tablespoons [30 mL] maple syrup
- 1/4 teaspoon [1 mL] nutmeg
- Non-stick vegetable spray

- Spray an 8-inch [20-cm] approximately 3 inches [7.5 cm] deep baking dish with non-stick vegetable spray.
- Into a small casserole, melt butter over medium heat.
- Add then sprinkle apple pieces wint 1/2 teaspoon [2.5 mL] of cinnamon.
- Stir-fry apple pieces for approximately 5 minutes, until tender.
- Remove apple pieces before adding sausage pieces and English muffin cubes; mix in apple pieces.
- Evenly spread mixture into prepared dish.
- Into a bowl, beat together eggs, milk, maple syrup, remaining 1 teaspoon [5 mL] cinnamon, and nutmeg.
- Evenly pour mixture over sausage mixture.
- Cover dish with plastic wrap; refrigerate mixture for 2 to 24 hours.
- To serve, preheat oven to 325°F [160°C].
- Remove plastic wrap and bake mixture into preheated oven for 50 minutes, before serving.
