- 6 ounces [180 g] butter
- 6 ounces [180 g] dark cooking chocolate, chopped
- 1 cup [250 mL] firmly packed brown sugar
- 3 eggs [2 ounces / 60 mL]
- 1 teaspoon [5 mL] vanilla
- 1 cup [140 g] flour
- 2 tablespoons [30 mL] cocoa powder
- 1/4 cup [60 mL] milk
- 3 1/2 ounces [100 g] macadamia or other nuts, roughly chopped

- Preheat oven to 350°F [180°C].
- Well grease and line muffin tins with paper or foil cups.
- Melt together butter and chopped dark chocolate, over hot water, into a double boiler.
- Stir in brown sugar, stirring well to dissolve lumps.
- Add eggs and vanilla.
- Beat well.
- Sift in flour and cocoa powder.
- Stir in milk, then chopped nuts.
- Fill muffin tins with mixture.
- Bake into preheated oven for approximately 20 to 25 minutes.
- Cool on racks.
