- 2 cups [280 g] all-purpose flour
- 4 tablespoons [60 mL] firmly packed brown sugar
- 1 tablespoon [15 mL] baking powder
- 1/2 cup [125 mL] freshly finely diced peeled peaches or well-drained diced canned peach pieces
- 1/4 teaspoon [1 mL] baking soda
- 1/8 teaspoon [0.5 mL] allspice
- 1 cup [250 mL] sour cream
- 1 egg
- 1/4 cup [60 g] melted butter or margarine, or vegetable oil [60 mL]

- Preheat oven to 400°F [200°C].
- Grease 12 large muffin cups.
- Into a large bowl, mix together flour, brown sugar and baking powder.
- Then add chopped peaches, baking soda and allspice; thoroughly flour peach dices.
- Into a clean bowl, combine sour cream, egg and melted butter or margarine or vegetable oil, until uniform in color.
- Pour liquids ingredients into dry ingredients and stir until moist yet lumpy.
- Evenly spoon dough into greased muffin cups.
- Bake into preheated oven for 25 minutes.
