Homemade Garam Masala [Indian-Style Spice Mix]

Comments: Indian-style mixture of spices, mixed into any permutation of quantities, which produces several hundreds types of masala.
Servings: 2 tablespoons [30 mL]
IngredientsPreparation
  • Seeds of 6 capsules black cardamom
    or
    10 capsules green cardamom
  • 1 tablespoon [15 mL] black peppercorns
  • 2 teaspoons [10 mL] caraway seeds
  • 1/2 teaspoon [2.5 mL] coriander seeds
  • 2 small whole dried chili peppers
    or
    1/4 teaspoon [1 mL] chili powder
  • Mix together black or green cardamom seeds, black peppercorns, caraway seeds, coriander seeds and whole chili peppers or chili powder.
  • Grind mixture.
