Blender Granola Mix
Comments: Good breakfast, or camping snack.

  • 6 cups [1.5 L] rolled oats
  • 1 cup [250 mL] sesame seeds
  • 1 cup [250 mL] sunflower seeds
  • 1 cup [250 mL] wheat germs
  • 1 cup [250 mL] coconut flakes [optional]
  • 1 cup [250 mL] chopped nuts
  • 1 cup [250 mL] nonfat dry milk
  • 1 cup [250 mL] safflower oil
  • 1 cup [250 mL] honey
  • 2 teaspoons [10 mL] vanilla extract
  • 1 cup [250 mL] raisins
  • Preheat oven to 300°F [150°C].
  • Into a large bowl, mix together rolled oats, sesame and sunflower seeds, wheat germs, coconut flakes if desired, chopped nuts and nonfat dry milk.
  • Into a blender container, combine safflower oil, honey and vanilla extract.
  • Process until well blended.
  • Mixing well, pour mixture into dry ingredients.
  • Spread mixture onto 2 large baking pans.
  • Brown into preheated oven, for approximately 1 hour, stirring frequently.
  • Remove from oven; leave to cool completely, before mixing in raisins.
  • Store into airtight containers.
