- 1/2 pound [227 g] butter
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tomatoes, thinly sliced
- 1 teaspoon [5 mL] freshly chopped parsley
- 1 teaspoon [5 mL] basil
- 1 tablespoon [15 mL] lemon juice
- 3 drops Worcestershire sauce
- 1 French bread stick
- Salt and pepper
- 1/2 cup [115 g] grated Gruyere cheese
- Paprika

- Into a frypan, melt 2 tablespoons [30 g] butter over high heat; brown together minced garlic and tomato slices.
- Lower heat and mix in remaining butter, freshly chopped parsley, basil, lemon juice and Worcestershire sauce.
- Cook to completely melt the butter, stirring.
- Transfer into a bowl; refrigerate for 3 to 4 hours.
- Preheat oven broiler.
- Slice French bread stick; coat each slice with cooled mixture.
- Season to taste with salt and pepper.
- Sprinkle each slice with grated Gruyere cheese, then with paprika.
- Broil for 3 to 4 minutes turning once, and serve.
