- 2 cups [500 mL] buckwheat flour
- 5 teaspoons [25 mL] baking powder
- 1 cup [140 g] all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon [5 mL] salt
- 2 1/2 cups [625 mL] milk
- 1 cup [250 mL] water
- 1 tablespoon [15 mL] brown sugar or molasses
- 1 egg, beaten

- Mix and sift together buckwheat flour, baking powder, all-purpose flour and salt.
- Add milk, water, brown sugar or molasses and beaten egg.
- Thoroughly mix.
- Cook immediately.
