- 1/2 pound [227 g] lean ground beef
- 1 medium onion
- 1 red or green bell pepper, finely diced
- 1 cup [250 mL] mushroom pieces
- 2 cups [500 mL] elbow macaroni
- 1 [32-ounce / 1-L] jar cheese marinara sauce
- Grated Parmesan and Mozzarella cheese, to taste [optional]

- Boil macaroni into salted boiling water until 'al dente'.
- Meanwhile, preheat oven to 350°F [180°C].
- Stirring, brown ground beef into a large frypan.
- Mix in minced onion, bell pepper dices and mushroom pieces; cook stirring for 2 to 3 minutes more.
- Drain then macaroni mix into meat/vegetables mixture along with cheese marinara sauce.
- Transfer mixture into a 9 x 13-inch [23 x 33-cm] baking dish.
- Bake into preheated oven for 10 minutes, sprinkled all over with grated Parmesan and Mozzarella cheese if desired.
