- 1 cup [250 mL] macaroni
- 4 tablespoons [60 mL] oil
- 1/2 pound [227 g] beef, cut into strips
- 4 tablespoons [60 mL] soya sauce
- 1 clove garlic
- 1 teaspoon [5 mL] salt
- 1/4 teaspoon [1 mL] pepper
- 3/4 cup [190 mL] mushrooms, sliced
- 1/2 cup [125 mL] celery, cut diagonally
- 1/2 cup [125 mL] onion, sliced
- 1/4 cup [60 mL] sweet pepper, sliced
- 1 can bean sprouts
- 2 cups [500 mL] beef broth
- 2 tablespoons [30 mL] cornstarch
- 2 tablespoons [30 mL] water
- 1/2 teaspoon [2.5 mL] MSG

- Heat oil in large frying pan; add meat, soya sauce, garlic, salt and pepper.
- Saute 3 to 5 minutes.
- Add mushrooms, celery, onion and pepper; cook 3 minutes.
- Add broth and bring to a boil.
- Add cooked macaroni and bean sprouts; cook 2 minutes.
- Dilute cornstarch and MSG in cold water and thicken sauce with this mixture.
- Serve.
