- 1/2 pound [227 g] lasagna noodles
- 2 tablespoons [30 mL] butter
- 3 cups [750 mL] turkey, cubed [or chicken]
- 2/3 cup [160 mL] onion, chopped
- 1 1/2 teaspoons [7.5 mL] garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon [2.5 mL] salt
- 1 pinch pepper
- 16 ounces [455 mL] tomato sauce
- 2 cups [500 mL] tomato juice
- 1/4 cup [60 mL] Parmesan cheese, shredded
- 1/2 teaspoon [2.5 mL] oregano
- 3/4 cup [190 mL] cottage cheese
- 3/4 cup [190 mL] Cheddar cheese, shredded

- Preheat oven to 375°F [190°C].
- Cook lasagna noodles.
- Rinse and drain well.
- Set aside.
- Heat butter in a casserole dish.
- Add turkey, onions and 1/2 teaspoon [2.5 mL] garlic powder.
- Season with salt and pepper.
- Brown over medium heat.
- Add tomato sauce, tomato juice, pepper and parmesan.
- Season with oregano and remaining garlic powder.
- Bring to a boil and reduce heat immediately.
- Cover and simmer 20 minutes.
- Place 1/3 of the lasagna noodles in a shallow, greased dish [13 x 10 inches / 33 x 25 cm].
- Place, alternating, half the sauce, 1/3 of the lasagna noodles, cottage cheese, remaining lasagna noodles, and remaining sauce.
- Sprinkle with shredded Cheddar cheese.
- Cook 30 to 40 minutes.
