Gigi Tortellini

  • 1 1/2 cup [375 mL] meat tortellini, uncooked
  • Salt
  • 1 tablespoon [15 mL] butter
  • 1 cup [250 mL] green pepper, cut into small cubes
  • 1 cup [250 mL] mushrooms, sliced
  • 8 3/4 ounces [248 g] bacon
  • 2 cups [500 mL] 35% cream
  • Pepper
  • 1 cup [250 mL] tomato sauce
  • Parmesan cheese
    • Cook tortellini according to package instructions; drain and set aside.
    • In a frying pan, melt butter and cook green pepper cubes; set aside.
    • Cook mushrooms; set aside.
    • Cook bacon until crispy; break into crumbs and set aside.
    • In a large pot, heat cream over high heat.
    • Add lots of pepper.
    • After 3 to 4 minutes over high heat, add tomato sauce.
    • After another 3 minutes add green pepper, mushrooms and bacon.
    • Simmer over medium heat 5 minutes.
    • Add tortellini, stir.
    • Add a bit of Parmesan cheese, cover and cook over low heat a few minutes.
    • Serve.
