Pizza Crust with Garnishings

Comments: Pizza crusts can be frozen after the first baking time.
Just before serving, thaw, garnish and bake crust.

  • 3 cups [420 g] all-purpose flour
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons [8 mL] instant yeast
  • 1 tablespoon [15 mL] baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon [5 g] sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon [1 mL] salt
  • 6 tablespoons [90 mL] oil
  • 2 cups [500 mL] lukewarm water
Garnishings
  • Pizza tomato sauce
  • Garnishings, to taste
  • Grated cheese, to taste
  • Into a large bowl, mix together flour, yeast, baking powder, sugar and salt.
  • Stir.
  • Pour in oil and lukewarm water.
  • Well mix.
  • Transfer dough onto a floured surface; knead dough 30 to 40 times, until smooth and stretchy.
  • Grease 2 [12-inch / 30-cm each] pizza pans.
  • Divide dough into 2 halves.
  • Roll and stretch dough to cover both pans.
  • Bake into a preheated 425°F [220°C] oven for 15 to 20 minutes; remove from oven.
  • If desired, freeze half-baked crusts.
  • When ready to serve, garnish half-baked crust[s] with pizza tomato sauce, garnishings and sprinkle with cheese.
  • Bake into a preheated 425°F [220°C] oven, for 8 to 10 minutes.
