Pizza Pockets

  • 1 recipe pizza dough, rolled into 4 [8-inch / 20-cm] circles
  • 1 cup [250 mL] pizza sauce
  • 3 1/2 ounces [100 g] salami or ham slices
  • 4 mushrooms, thinly sliced
  • 1 small sweet green pepper, chopped
  • 1/3 cup [75 g] shredded cheese [Cheddar or Mozzarella cheese]
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • Preheat oven to 425°F [220°C].
  • Spread half of the center of each pizza circle with pizza sauce, not spreading any sauce over thicker parts all around.
  • Evenly garnish each pizza, with tomato sauce, salami or ham slices, mushroom slices and with chopped sweet green pepper.
  • Sprinkle with shredded cheese.
  • Fold each pizza into a half circle.
  • Press press all around unitl completely sealed.
  • Brush pizza pockets with beaten egg; arrange onto a baking sheet.
  • Bake into preheated oven for 20 to 25 minutes, until golden brown.
