- 1 1/2 pounds [680 g] lean ground beef
- 1 cup [250 mL] breadcrumbs
- 2/3 cup [160 mL] beef consomme
- 1 egg
- 1/2 cup [125 mL] finely chopped onion
- 1/2 teaspoon [2.5 mL] garlic salt
- 1 [7 1/2-ounce / 213-mL] can pizza sauce
- 2 cups [500 mL] grated Mozzarella cheese
Toppings
- Mushroom slices
- Green pepper slices or strips
- Olive halves or slices
- Any other topping, to taste
- 2 tablespoons [30 mL] grated Parmesan cheese

- Preheat oven to 350°F [180°C].
- Into a large bowl, thoroughly mix together ground beef, breadcrumbs, beef consomme, egg, finely chopped onion and garlic salt.
- Evenly press ground beef mixture into a 12-inch [30-cm] pizza plate, shaping a 1/2-inch [1.3-cm] large border all around.
- Evenly spread pizza sauce over ground beef mixture.
- Sprinkle with Mozzarella cheese.
- Garnish to taste with mushroom slices, green pepper slices or strips, olive halves or slices....
- Sprinkle with grated Parmesan cheese.
- Bake into preheated oven for 20 minutes, until meat is done.
- Slice and serve.
